Seedlings are a fraction of grafted prices

We favor selected chestnut seedlings for affordable nut-producing plantings with healthy, vigorous root systems.

Seedlings retain natural root development and genetic variation. We choose them for commercial nut production and wildlife, with pollination and site suitability in mind.

Grafted trees preserve a selected cultivar and can be useful for breeding or specific orchard goals. Grafting is not a guarantee of higher yields; seedling yields are not universally higher either. Genetics, climate, roots, pollination and care all matter.

Expected seedling height at sale is 12 to 36 inches. We recommend spring planting.
