Plant for the long term
We help match trees to the site, plant with tubes and leave you with a map and a care plan.
Many Iowa sites offer excellent conditions for hardwoods, but not every site suits every species. We only install where we expect trees can live their full natural lifespan, potentially centuries for some species. That is our planning standard, not a survival guarantee.
Installation and materials
$7.5 installation labor per tree; a tube kit costs $8 per tree at full price.
Trees and materials are separate from labor. Tubes are required: we install with tubes only, unless a separate larger protection plan has been agreed for the site. We do not offer bare-tree installations.
Before planting
We review drainage, soil pH, soil depth, wind exposure and the sun path, then plan spacing and layout for mature trees and access. Available online soil information helps with the initial review; we perform in-person tests before large plantings.
What you receive
- Delivery and planting at an appropriate depth, with watering and supported tubes.
- A printed map showing tree locations and types, with cultivar names when applicable.
- A care guide covering moisture checks, protection maintenance and ongoing weed and tall grass control.
Weed and tall grass control in the first weeks and establishment years is crucial. Installation does not replace ongoing care.
Where we work
Our service area is central and western Iowa, between Des Moines and Omaha. Travel and job size are discussed before a quote is agreed.
Buying seedlings without installation
You can buy just seedlings. Preorder or contact us by phone to arrange an order; prepayment will be available when payments are enabled. Online payments are currently disabled, and this inquiry form takes no payment.
Pickup is available at the farm or by arrangement in Des Moines. Omaha handoffs are for large orders only. We do not ship trees.
Expected seedling height is 12-36 inches, varying by species and growing season. We recommend spring planting. Small grafted trees may be available; inquire before making plans around them.
